Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an initial tattoo enquiry?

Feel free to drop into the studio anytime or fill in our online enquiries form and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. Please be sure to fill in all the necessary details for a quick and accurate response.

If your tattoo is fairly small and simple we can often book you straight in over email. However, most larger or detailed pieces will require popping in one evening for a consultation.

Can I walk-in or do I need to make an appointment?

Where we can we will try and fit you in on the day, but we do get very booked up so it is always best to fill in an enquiries form and book ahead.

Do you have a long waiting list?

This depends on the individual artist and the size of your chosen piece. Availability can range from 1 week to 2-3 months, however it is always worth checking as appointments move around daily.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes, we offer a free consultation service. Each artist has set days and these run on a first come first served basis from between 6-6.45pm, please fill in our online enquiries form with your design details and we’ll happily book you in from there.

Consultations are an opportunity to discuss your ideas and meet with your potential artist in person. Please bring along image reference print-outs if you can (images on your phone are fine if not). From here your artist will be able to give you an indication of costs and availability.

Current artist consultation days and times are as follows

Paul Hill-Tuesdays 6-6.45pm

Andrew Hulbert-Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-6.45pm

Rose Harley-Wednesdays and Thursdays 6-6.45pm

Fam-Wednesdays 6-6.45pm

Adam Ruff-Thursdays 6-6.45pm

Chris Strik-Tuesdays 6-6.45pm

Please note, providing your arrival at the studio is within the 6-6.45pm time slot you are guaranteed to be seen. Later than 6.45pm will need to be re-scheduled.

We kindly ask you to read over the following information before booking your consultation.

You must be 18 or over to have a tattoo and ID will be required on the day of your appointment. (We cannot accept parental consent for under 18’s).

Ladies, unfortunately we cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you have any medical conditions such as a blood borne virus etc, please make your artist aware of this during your consultation.

We recommend no swimming or heavy sun exposure (including sun beds) for the first 3 weeks of your healing.

A deposit of £40 (or £90 for larger hourly rate pieces) is required at the time of making a booking and we accept cash or debit card but unfortunately not credit cards (mastercard) or AMEX.

What should I be aware of before booking my tattoo?

You must be 18 or over to have a tattoo and ID will be required on the day of your appointment. (We cannot accept parental consent for under 18’s).

We unfortunately cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you have any medical conditions such as a blood borne virus etc, please make your artist aware of this during your consultation or before making your booking.

We recommend no swimming or heavy sun exposure (including sun beds) for the first few weeks of your healing.

How should I prepare for my tattoo on the day?

A good breakfast is highly recommended, and too much alcohol the night before is not a good idea, as this can thin the blood. Please be aware we will not tattoo anyone under the influence of drink or drugs.

We will shave the tattoo area for you, please do not do this yourself.

We politely ask that friends/partners are limited to one only during your session.

Children, dogs and bicycles are not permitted in the studio.

Can I use numbing cream?

We do not recommend using numbing cream. This can make the skin more difficult to tattoo and can sometimes affect how it heals. There is often a greater level of pain experienced once it has worn off.

Are there any areas/tattoo's you refuse?

The areas of the body which we do not tattoo are the sides of the fingers/palms, the inner lip and the soles of the feet. These areas tend to be very difficult to heal and are prone to drop-outs and blow outs.

We do not tattoo in white ink as this tends to turn an off-white yellowy colour over time.

We can tattoo tops of hands, necks and faces, however these would require a consultation.

Please be aware that our artists will not directly copy another artists design, however we are willing to take inspiration from certain pieces and create your own original version for you.

How much will my tattoo cost?

We have a £50 minimum (£60 for hands)  and generally quote on size and detail. For larger more detailed pieces we work on a £90 an hour rate.

We are often able to give an indication of price over email, but for larger work your artist will give you a quote during your consultation.

We take deposits to hold all appointments and this is either £40 or £90 depending on your quote.

The remainder of your payment is due after your tattoo has been done

Please note that all deposits are non-refundable

Which methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit card and Paypal (plus fee) transactions for your deposit and remainder of your payment. Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards (mastercard) or AMEX.

Can I bring a friend/partner to my appointment?

We politely ask that friends/partners are limited to only during your session.

Our studio is small therefore your friend/partner must take care not to move around the space or lean on the tattoo chairs. This can be distracting for the artists at work. A member of the team will show them where to sit.

Under 18’s, babies, dogs and bicycles are not permitted in the studio.

Are you a licenced studio and do you have sufficient needle disposal in place?

Yes, we are a fully licenced studio and pride ourselves on having excellent levels of cleanliness. All of our needles are one-use disposables and our artists follow strict health and safety guidelines.

We use certified medical waste and sharps disposal contractors.

Which ink brands do you use? Are they Vegan friendly?

We use Dynamic black, Intenze, and Eternal ink.

These brands are all vegan friendly.

Do you do piercings?

Sorry we do not do piercings

How do I look after my new tattoo?

Your artist will explain how they would like you to look after you tattoo, this can vary piece by piece.

Generally we recommend to do the following

• Remove your dressing after 2-3 hours ( Unless otherwise advised by your artist ).

• Wash your tattoo with clean hands, using warm soapy water.

Rinse the area with cold water and pat dry.

• Normal showering is fine just do not soak your tattoo or rub with a towel.

• Apply Bepanthen cream 2-3 times a day until your tattoo is healed.

( Unless otherwise advised by your artist ). Do not allow your tattoo to dry out.

• Your tattoo will scab whilst it is healing, do not pick at the flakes as

this can cause the colour to be pulled out.

• Avoid swimming or suntanning until your tattoo has healed.

Apply a high SPF sunblock for the life of your tattoo to prevent fading.
